I had ICL done last week and I truly feel like a new person. I first had free consultation last month, during which doctor recommended ICL for my case. The consultation process was quick, smooth and very informative. The procedure itself was fast- I was in and out of Boston vision within two hour on the day of surgery. I experienced no pain post procedure, just some light sensitivity and blurry vision on the day of the procedure. By the next day, I had the best vision. I highly recommend ICL and Boston vision to anyone considering vision correction. It's honestly one of the best decisions I've made, and I only wish I had done it sooner.

To start, I will say that my only regret is not having had this procedure done sooner. From consult through surgery and post-op follow-up, I experienced nothing but professionalism, confidence, and reassurance from the team at Boston Vision. When I went in for my initial consult, I had mentally prepared myself for the LASIK path, but when a review of my astigmatism revealed that I was not a candidate for the procedure, I was disheartened in the moment. My concerns were quickly assuaged when I was advised that I WAS a good candidate for ICL surgery. I was further relieved to learn of the rapid and painless recovery post-surgery (now six days out from my own procedure, I can attest to the truth of this, having achieved 20/20 vision by my one-day post-op appointment and only experiencing minimal discomfort and an oft-cited halo-effect which has improved with each passing day). Through the consultation of the BV team, I also opted for the Monovision treatment to retain near-sightedness enough to prolong the eventual need for reading glasses (a clear plus for an avid reader who also spends too much time on his phone). I cannot recommend this procedure or Boston Vision strongly enough. To be able to wake up the morning after surgery and see without glasses for the first time since 4th grade was a priceless experience. I would be happy to reflect further on my own experience should it be helpful to anyone else.

Great experience all around. I am 2 days out and have 20-20 vision with a little dry eye and tiredness / soreness but otherwise feeling great. I was quite nervous to have the surgery as I am a fainter in medical settings but the team was super supportive and the surgery went pretty seamlessly. I would highly recommend and it’s worth getting over any fears you may have to invest in yourself.

I recently had ICL surgery at Boston Vision, and I honestly couldn’t be happier with my experience. Being able to wake up and see clearly without reaching for my glasses has been life-changing. I was very nervous on the day of my surgery, but Dr. Brenner and the entire team were incredibly kind, patient, and reassuring. They took the time to make me feel comfortable and helped ease all of my anxiety, which meant so much to me. I’m so grateful to the team at Boston Vision and would highly recommend them to anyone considering ICL surgery.

I had my ICL Surgery on 4/15/26, so I am 5 days post-op. From the beginning of my consultation up to the time of my surgery, the staff and Dr. Brenner were always available to answer my questions. On the day of surgery, I had more excitement than nervousness. I wore contacts and glasses since I was in middle school. I also have astigmatism. I received the dilation and numbing drops for preparation. Inside the surgery room they taped down my upper and lower lashes, and clamped my lids open. I had to stare at the bright lights and just felt a lot of pressure then pain. Each eye took about 10mins. I was given a bag with sunglasses since my eyes were very sensitive with light, eye drops for 1 week, and special goggles to sleep in at night. Leaving surgery, I could see, but had some blurriness. When I got home, I really wanted to just sleep and rest. I experienced more blurriness on my right eye and some pain and headache, panicked and called Dr. Brenner who reassured me it's normal and part of healing. I took some Tylenol and after taking my scheduled drops, the severe blurriness went away on the right eye to match my left eye. At my next day appointment, I was able to drive myself and everything looked great and was healing well. Each day I feel my vision is getting better and looking forward to the blurriness going away completely. Overall, the best decision I've made.

A couple days post ICL and loving my brand new vision. From a lifelong struggle with incredibly poor vision, uncomfortable contacts, and migraines for glasses, this procedure has changed my life and even given me one step beyond 20-20 vision (now 20-15!). The staff are supportive and knowledgeable, and the procedure went by in a flash. Recovery thus far has been a breeze with minimal discomfort. Glad I traveled down from Maine to receive the Boston Vision expert level care.

I'm on the 4th day post operation of EVO ICL surgery with Monovision at Boston Vision, and overall it was a really positive experience. From the first consultation through the actual procedure, the staff was professional, organized, and reassuring, which made everything feel much easier than I expected. They took time to explain the process clearly and answer my questions, so I felt prepared going in. The surgery itself was quick and straightforward, it felt like 3 minutes per eye. While it wasn’t completely comfortable, it was very manageable. The recovery was also smoother than I expected, with my vision improving quickly after the first day. Not having to rely on glasses or contacts anymore will be a huge improvement and my goal. The only issue I have is seeing the halos in my vision and hope that goes away over time. Overall I'm very happy with the results and glad I chose Boston Vision for the procedure.

My ICL surgery with Dr. Brenner went very well. The procedure was very quick, it felt like about 10 minutes for both eyes, not including preparation time. My vision felt good after the surgery, although I experienced halos when looking at lights (which I was told is normal after ICL). At my post-op visit the next day, my vision was 20/20, although it was occasionally slightly blurry. I did notice mild pain in my left eye when focusing on close objects, but the doctor explained that this is part of the normal recovery process and that it takes time for the eyes to adjust. Since then, both the mild discomfort and the halos have been improving. Today is the fifth day after surgery, and I feel great. I can use electronic devices normally without any issues. Overall, I am very satisfied with my decision to choose Boston Vision for my ICL surgery.

Post op day 4 of ICL. Vision was good immediately after srugery but slowly got better as dilation wore off. Was able to give a lecture the following morning without issues. Check up day after surgery said everything was good. Initial prescription was -7.75 in both eyes with astigmatism but now seeing 20/20 Do notice halos from bright lights at certain angles but they don't inhibit anything and aren't annoying. Recovery symptoms are a little worse compared to immediately post op and the day after. Eyes are a little bit more discomfort but not painful. Can't rub my eyes but even lightly touching my eye feels like touching a bruise. Also get a sensation that comes and goes that almost feels like when there is a tear in your lashes but nothing is there and it goes away spontaneously. Minor symptoms though and hopeful it will get better as healing progresses. Overall had a great experience with Boston Vision. Super simple and straightforward. Was able to schedule appointment to be evaluated within a few days and then scheduled surgery about 2 weeks after I paid. Surgery itself was a few mins with no pain, only a little discomfort looking into a bright light. Very seamless.

My ICL surgery with Dr. Brenner went very well. It was a remarkably quick procedure - around 10 minutes on the table for both eyes. The recovery was easy. I had very minimal soreness for two days following and some dry eye that was relieved with OTC drops. I saw 20/20 (r) and 20/25 (L) the day after my surgery.

My surgery was done by Mr.Melki. The procedure was very quick to finish. Everything went smoothly and well, except during the surgery I felt a little bit pain and pressure. My degrees were very high before the surgery! Right now I can see the clear world. It feels so nice!

I'm one week out from my ICL surgery and wanted to share how it's gone so far. On surgery day I actually had two procedures done. Along with the ICL implant, Dr. Melki cut LASIK flaps as well. Because my astigmatism is so high at 5.5 diopters, I'll most likely need LASIK afterward to correct the residual astigmatism, so doing both at once made sense. The surgery itself wasn't bad at all. My first eye was completely painless. The second eye was a little uncomfortable but it was over so fast. I felt totally fine when I left. The hard part was the car ride home. I had almost a two hour drive and toward the end one of my eyes started throbbing with pressure. I called the office and Dr. Melki said that some pressure after having two procedures done at the same time isn't unusual. It ended up feeling better as soon as I laid down. I took Tylenol PM that night to make sure I slept good and just kept up with regular Tylenol the next day for some minor discomfort. Vision wise, I didn't notice a big difference right away, but at my one day post op I was already testing at 20/20. My prescription was never really the problem though. It was the 5.5 diopters of astigmatism that was making it hard to see, and that's what the LASIK part of the plan will finish off for correcting. The first week has had some minor discomfort here and there and occasional blurry vision in one eye. The most annoying things have been headaches from my eyes trying to adjust and light sensitivity that made doing homework tough. Not unbearable, just something to deal with. Tomorrow is my one week follow up and I'm looking forward to finding out how things are healing and when I can get the LASIK scheduled to finish everything out. Overall I have no complaints. The team has been great to work with.

Currently am 6 days post surgery and am feeling at 98% today with some halos and tiredness from working on my laptop for the better half of the morning! While the process of the surgery itself is uncomfortable and anxiety provoking, it is relatively quick and I took 2 days off of work following to recover and take care of myself. The team was really excellent and played fun music during the surgery which honestly helped to just set a nice light mood to the surgery itself. I started to be able to see better that night and especially the following morning. It hasn't fully sunk in that I no longer need glasses as I reach for them every morning but I think in the next couple weeks, it's really going to settle in mentally. I am definitely an anxious person so I have made sure to be diligent about the post-op instructions, limiting screen time, and using protective glasses when I'm outside. I'd recommend this surgery to anyone who's overused contacts and is looking to have some more ease surrounding their vision.

(The system forced me to pick a different service for every review, but I just had monovision PRK surgery all the way through.) So, I had my adjustment PRK monovision surgery in January 2026 after experiencing the first PRK surgery for 9 months and not feeling like I ever got to crispness of vision or to the true monovision. It was a good decision. I was of course very nervous to go through the healing process again. They say it takes about a week to go back to work and life, but that is not entirely true. My vision was still healing and unstable for 2 months afterward, and I didn't feel comfortable driving again until almost 3 months! I could be functional, but definitely not normal - looking at screens for work, watching TV, getting behind the wheels was all very shaky. So just prepare to not be able to do everything to 100%. My monovision did kick in this time, so it took longer for my vision to adjust back to normal. The adjustment to monovision made it hard to watch TV, read and drive for the first couple of months - so be warned about that. But now that I'm at the 3-months mark, my vision is SO MUCH BETTER! I can look at my computer screen, watch TV, and drive normally again. This time around, my vision is much clearer than the first round. I would advise to talk to your surgeon if your vision is not how you expect it to be. The other thing that I did this time around that I think helped with the healing process is constantly using the artificial tears. I didn't do that regularly the first time around bc my eyes didn't feel dry. This time, I used the artificial tears every couple of hours regardless of feeling dry or not. The healing process is not a slam dunk, but I would definitely trade 3 months of discomfort for a lifetime of glasses-free vision!

Today is day 4th after my ICL procedure with monovision as I dont want to wear reading glasses later on. I finally picked to go with ICL over PRK as the healing process. And; I am overall satisfied with ICL procedure and all the services from preop to post op here at Boston vision. The procedure went fast, not painful at all. It is a little of weird feeling to me as I have to be awake during the surgery, also I was nervous alot too. However, all went great and quick. About 10 minutes for one eye, then I walked out of the procedure room to test for that eye, then quickly come back to the procedure room for the other eye. Both of my eye are healing well, yes, I still see some halos around bright lights, blurry and eye fatigue some time, which I hope it will improve soon.

I had CLE LASIK surgery in December, and overall, my experience has been very positive. From the start, the doctors and staff were professional, attentive, and reassuring throughout the entire process. The post-surgery plan included follow-up adjustments over four weeks, which gave me confidence that my vision would be carefully monitored and fine-tuned. As it turned out, I felt ready by the third adjustment, and my vision had already improved significantly by then. I did the monovision setup, with one eye optimized for distance and the other for near vision. That required time to adapt, but now, it genuinely feels like I have “20/20” vision, everything is clear and sharp. That said, since this is new for me, I’m still getting used to what “normal” should feel like after the procedure. Overall, I’m very pleased with both the results and the level of care I received, and I would absolutely recommend this experience to others considering the procedure.

Just had my ICL procedure at Boston Vision and the entire process was flawless from start to finish. The team was incredibly professional, efficient, and reassuring throughout, which made a big difference going into something like this. The most interesting part has been the recovery so far. Yesterday afternoon, my vision was noticeably fluctuating, sometimes blurry at a distance, then foggy, then with halos around lights, and at one point I could clearly see both my phone and far away at the same time. It was a strange but fascinating experience, and reassuring to feel things actively improving. Overall, everything went perfectly and I’m very excited to see how my vision continues to stabilize over the next few days.

I had my ICL procedure done at Boston Vision with Dr. Gregoire and had a really positive experience. The staff was friendly and made sure to check in with me at every step—from consults to surgery day to post-op visits. The procedure itself was quick (about 2 hours total inclusive of all the pre-op dilations and checks). Immediately after I could already see better than without glasses (was a -9.5 in contacts) though I was very light sensitive and couldn’t see up close at all (be prepared with some audio books to keep you entertained the rest of the day). By day one post-op, my close-up vision returned and was nearly 20/20, with only slight peripheral blurriness. Overall, I’m very happy with the results and how smooth the whole process felt.

Boston Vision made the entire process incredibly smooth! The prep information was super helpful, as was the consult. The thoroughness with which they assess your best options for a path forward indicates how the team truly cares about each individual patients satisfaction. The procedure itself was quick and painless—discomfort was only experienced for about 3 hours post surgery (similar to having sunscreen irritating your eye but you can’t do anything about it). By hour 4, I was up and moving around and could see even more clearly than before.

I went in nervous at first but calmed down a lot the week leading up to ICL. I never heard of ICL before but it was an extremely fast procedure and I probably spent more time getting measured than on the operating table. It was probably about 10 minutes per eye and I could see almost immediately after the surgery. I was able to read and walk for about 40 minutes on my way home stopping for coffee and pastries. At no point did I experience anything more than dry eye as far as discomfort which the RX drops helped with. I am about a week out now and only have some halos in my vision and occasional sense of overpressure but everything has been great so far. My near vision seems to be pretty much perfect as well despite what I was told!

I recently underwent ICL surgery with a monovision approach on March 17, 2026, and wanted to share my experience so far. I’ve had very poor vision for most of my life—difficulty seeing both near and far, along with astigmatism. I’ve worn contact lenses for decades (starting with hard lenses!), but over time my eyes became increasingly dry, and my vision was often not as clear as I needed, especially with long hours on the computer. Night driving also became more challenging as I got older. I was not a candidate for LASIK, but after learning about ICL as an alternative, I went through extensive evaluations and tested the monovision option (one eye for distance, one for near). After careful consideration, I decided to move forward. It has been less than a week since the procedure, so I know I still need time for my eyes—and my brain—to fully adjust before I can assess the long-term outcome. That said, the experience thus far has been excellent. From the very first consultation to follow-up appointments, email communications, the day of surgery, and post-op care, every interaction has been outstanding. Every single person I encountered—from receptionists and technicians to doctors and administrative staff—was professional, kind, and attentive. It’s rare to experience such a consistently high level of care across an entire team. The facilities are clean, bright, and easy to access, with ample parking, which made each visit smooth and stress-free. I can’t say enough good things about Boston Vision and their team. Now, I’m keeping my fingers crossed for continued improvement—and hopefully a future with clearer vision and no halos!

I am on day 4 of recovery from ICL procedure (both eyes) with Dr. Brennan. The overall experience has been positive. The procedure itself was fairly quick and for the rest of the day there is extreme sensitivity to light. By the time I woke up the next day, things were much better and I was 20/20 in both eyes in my next day follow up appointment. The recovery has gone well and pretty much exactly as Dr. Brennan indicated.

Good overall experience. I am 49 years old, and I corrected for distance vision only with the expectation that I would need to use reading glasses. I am used to wearing disposable contacts and using reading glasses. It's only been about a week since the surgery, and my distance vision is good, but my mid distance and close in vision was affected more than I was expecting based on my experience with disposable contact lenses. I am hoping that it will improve in time

Boston Vision was extremely helpful through the entire process of my EVO ICL Phakic journey. I was referred to them by my Optometrist as I had a very high myopic reading with astigmatism, leading to thick glasses which became uncomfortable over the years (I’ve had glasses since I was 4!). Upon engaging with a Boston Vision, I felt very taken care of from my initial consultation, which was very thorough, with multiple tests done to ensure I received the best recommendations possible as next steps. The nurses and doctors were kind, patient, and answered all my questions and concerns at each step. When speaking with Billing & Marketing about cost, pros/cons, etc., they all took the time to help me make the right decision. I had my procedure with Dr. Brenner & Dr. Sabbah who were both very comforting and did an excellent job with the procedure, from pre-surgery review and testing, questions, to the procedure itself and post-op instructions, they & their nurse team helped me feel comfortable and confident that I would get the corrected and sharpened vision I desired. I’m nearly a week post-op now and am seeing sharp, with no major side effects. There are adjustments your eye will go through that are natural, but overall I’m very excited about my new eyes! I cannot say enough good things about BV and would highly recommend them for any vision-related care.

ICL has been the **best investment I’ve ever made**, and I’m truly thrilled with the results. I’ve worn glasses since the 2nd grade and I’m now in my early 30s, so this change is HUGE for me. I’m very active, and my glasses never stayed on my face. Daily contacts would dry my eyes out tremendously after just a few hours. It was time for a change! **Day of the procedure:** When I arrived, I received several dilation drops and some medication to help me relax. I was actually so comfortable that I fell asleep in the waiting area—dim lights, cozy sweater, the whole vibe was very calming. After about an hour, they brought me to another room with a much more cushioned chair before finally taking me into the procedure room. I didn’t feel a thing! At first, I was nervous and waiting to feel some pain, but before I knew it, Dr. Brenner said, “All done with the right eye.” I was shocked and relieved—it was that quick. I relaxed even more when he went over to my left eye. When I got up, I could already see! It was a little blurry at first, but I could immediately tell the difference. Yes, there’s some light sensitivity and the halos are real at first, but there was **no pain at all**. **24 hours after surgery:** my vision is already sharp and clear. What an incredible difference. Thank you Boston Vision Brookline!

I'm currently 2-3 months post-op for ICL with Dr. Melki. He was great and responsive to texts when I needed reassurance! I actually split my eye op into my right eye in December and my left eye in January but had a complication due to eye pressure in my right eye from a steroid paste that was injected into the eye. It eventually resulted in very high eye pressure that manifested as visual issues such as TV static, extreme blurriness, and hazing which I initially chalked up to "eye adaption" issues given follow-ups at the office had not revealed anything. When eventually it was confirmed to be elevated to dangerous levels the team acted quickly and the paste was cut out and I was put on Lumigan. The issues immediately resolved and my eye healed from the emergency op with little issue. I was previously -9 with astigmatism wearing both contacts/glasses which was increasingly getting in the way of being active (snowboarding, bouldering, motorcycling). I'm now 20/15 in both eyes though still experience halos that have worsened my night vision and impacted nighttime driving which I'm told should continue to improve over time.

I had ICL surgery with Dr. Melki, and he was absolutely wonderful. I'm currently post-op day 3 and doing very well. I can already see close to 20/20, even while experiencing the expected early symptoms like halos and mild light sensitivity. My prescription was -13.00, so I relied solely on contact lenses to function since middle school (glasses always severely distorted my vision and caused headaches). Unfortunately, I had overused contact lenses for so many years that my eyes could no longer tolerate them. One of my specialists recommended ICL, and I am so grateful they did. I felt very well taken care of at Boston Vision.

I'm currently on day 6 post-ICL surgery with Dr. Brenner and the entire process has been very positive so far. The initial consultation was informative and I found the entire booking process to be efficient. I felt well taken care of on the day of my surgery. Since then, my recovery seems to be going well despite encountering some symptoms to be expected during the healing phase e.g. halos, double vision. I would definitely recommend this practice to other patients and I look forward to updating this review in due course once my eyes have fully healed.

I had ICL with Dr. Brenner 3 days ago. I'm in my mid-30s. After the initial assessment with the optometrist, I opt to discuss my case with Dr. Brenner prior to committing to ICL. Dr. Brenner is very knowledgeable about the different options and provided additional insight to my options, which included PRK. Although their website typically recommends monovision for patients over 40, Dr. Brenner also recommended monovision to me, which I opt in for. Scheduling the procedure is very straightforward. I got the time of my procedure 4 days before the scheduled date. I showed up right on time. We started with some basic measurement and imaging and a handful of eye drops. 50 minutes later I was in the operation room. I had both eyes done in about 20ish minutes. The procedure was painless. The biggest discomfort was to look into the bright light on the operating table during the surgery. I was quickly released after some quick imaging and measurement. My vision was very blurry right after, so you definitely need someone to bring you home. I could SEE the progress every couple hours. I didn't feel any pain after the numbing drops wear out. My vision significantly improved the next day and was able to drive to my day 1 follow-up. I can watch TV with little discomfort. I can look at computer screen and my phone much more comfortably on day 2. I currently still see halo around light sources which doesn't bother me too much. I was told that my vision will continue to improve for the next several weeks. It's great to not have to wear glasses or contacts again!

It’s my 3rd day after ICL. My vision is so clear and bright. I do see a little shining at night but day time all is great. The experience with Dr.Brenner and nurses on Boston Vision at Brookline was pleasant. The whole procedure went so smooth. I didn’t feel a thing. Its been 4 days since my surgery. My vision is close to perfect, and only a little blurry when it comes to reading things like subtitles. However, it is still early days so hoping it will adjust soon. The procedure itself is a bit uncomfortable but very short and totally worth it. With my dry eyes and high astigmatism, this was the best option for me. I have been experiencing some halos with lights but it isn't anything too bad. It is so cool to be able to see!!

I had ICL yesterday Feb 4th-wednesday at 2pm (less than 24 hours ago). My vision is near perfect. Just now have noted a few spots or floaters. Tiny. Only when using phone. They've said things like that are normal for a few days anyway. Yesterday I came home and was still so dilated (I needed extra doses) so I wanted to be in the dark and had some halos then. But you could kinda tell right away thay it worked if that makes sense. The vision i have right now is so similar to wearing contacts or my glasses of the past 30+ years, since I was a small child that im literally confused and my brain cant keep up. I keep reaching to pull off glasses or thinking I need to rinse my contacts bc my eyes are a tiny bit dry. I think after I heal and stop wearing the goggles at night I will really understand what has happened. Its amazing technology and im immensely thankful I did it. No pain at all. Tiny pressure sensation and mahbe mild headache yesterday. Today eyes feel a little dry. As for the procedure: its anxiety provoking. Your eye has to be open. WIDE. So its gonna be taped open, etc. Its over fast. No real pain. Unpleasant at worse, and barely. Breathe through it. Its worth it and you'll be fine too. UPDATE February 13th. Had my 2nd post op visit yesterday. Healing well. Quick visit. Easy process. Some halos in bright winter sun driving. Totally manageable. Really was 99% normal the next day. I havent noticed night halos much. Mild dry eyes

I will update my experience as it progresses. Pre-Surgery: I reviewed some accounts on howdiditgo, did some reading, and watched some videos of ICL procedures so that I had an idea of what to expect. I would recommend this as I was less surprised by what I experienced. I also recommend reading about the monovision option and deciding on the importance of reading screens and your phone without reading glasses versus possibly worse night vision and depth perception in some scenarios. Day 0 - day of surgery: I was given some drops to dilate my eyes as well as numbing drops. Then one of the doctors made marks on my left eye to guide lens alignment, as that eye has an astigmatism that requires proper alignment of the lens. I was then given the option of something to relax me (an under the tongue drug called MKO: Midazolam, Ketamine HCl, and Ondansetron). I took it but I did not really notice any effect from it, though I was fairly relaxed to begin with. I was quite tired and sleepy after the surgery, so perhaps that was an effect of the medication. During the surgery I mostly experienced interesting darkness and light in my eyes with some pressure. My second eye felt a small amount of pain but nothing too troubling and it was all completed quite quickly. I could not see well after the surgery as my eyes were very dilated, but I could tell my vision was much improved and I could at least navigate while walking. Once I got home I rested and slept on and off for a few hours. Day 1 - day after surgery: One eye was still a little dilated in the morning but I already noticed much improved vision, and it was nice to be able to read the clock in the morning. By late afternoon I felt I was seeing well enough to be able to drive. I definitely still had some minor eye pain, dryness, and discomfort similar to having some sand in my eyes. Week 1: My left eye is seeing close to 20/20 but my right eye is not seeing as well. Still waiting for swelling to settle and more healing. Week 2-3: Have been noticing the bright light rings when lights or the sun refract off of the holes in the middle of the lenses. It is mostly on the outer part of my vision and more interesting than a big problem. Perhaps my brain will learn to ignore it later as some folks say it went away for them. My biggest issue is that (possibly due to my large pupils) I am seeing reflections/ghost images in “low light” conditions (which are reflections from the edges of the lenses). Unfortunately, this is not just at night, but in rooms with slightly low light. The effect is worse the darker it is, and it makes night driving difficult as I get many repeated reflections from oncoming lights. This is primarily in my left eye, but I am noticing it in my right eye now. My right eye is also still not seeing well and I was told that the cornea shape has changed after getting the incisions and we should wait until the 6 week mark to see if that settles down or we can look at options then. Monovision: I chose to not have monovision as I never liked it with my contact lenses. I will say that the reading impact is on anything up to one half to an arms reach, so looking at my phone or reading books and sometimes the computer screen. This means I do need reading glasses handy a fair amount. It is hard to know if I would prefer monovision or whether it would have impacted my depth perception and night vision the way it did before. I might suggest trying it out with contact lenses ahead of time to help make the decision especially if you are 40-50+.

I’m honestly amazed that this surgery exists. I went in for a LASIK consult and ultimately decided on ICL given my high prescription, the smoother recovery, and the option—however unlikely—of reversibility. The surgery itself was surprisingly easy. I was a bit nervous about having only local numbing, but I didn’t feel a thing and was in and out in under 20 minutes. The light sensitivity and headache were intense for about the first 48 hours, but after that, the results have been great. Waking up and being able to see clearly is still a thrill—and I have to stop myself from trying to take out my contacts at night. Highly recommend.

My experience was so smooth. Going in I was nervous. Everyone made me feel at ease and it was so quick. Recovery has been smooth as well. Highly recommend

I had mild astigmatism in both eyes with a contacts Rx of -8 and -8.5. I decided to go with ICL surgery thinking that a reversible procedure was less risky than the other options, especially after hearing about severely dry eyes as a potential life long symptom. I was also not eligible for Lasik in one eye. It has nearly been one week since my procedure, and I am very happy with the results! On the day of the surgery, Nune, Dr. Brenner, and everyone else in the surgical room made me feel very comfortable. I did opt for the anti-anxiety melt. The procedure itself was much less uncomfortable than I expected, and I definitely wouldn't describe it as painful at any point. There was music playing and although I couldn't see, everyone sounded very cheerful. By the time I stood up, I could already see pretty well. I watched a video of the procedure the night before, and it helped to have some idea of what was happening. Later that day, it became more difficult to see which is normal. I was still dilated and saw thick halos, glare, and cloudy vision that first day. I did have an issue with cloudy, almost completely white vision in my right eye, but Dr. Brenner offered to have me come in ASAP and resolved it quickly. I appreciated that he was so responsive by phone. I spent the next two days mainly avoiding screens and listening to audio books, but have lived relatively normally since day 3. I do see some faint halos now, but my vision is better than 20/20 in both eyes. I am very happy with the decision to do this, and I am enjoying boasting about my vision to everyone around me.

I am 2 days post ICL surgery. I was a -3.5 in both eyes with astigmatism prior to surgery. I've been wearing glasses since I was 15 yo and have tried daily disposable contacts throughout the years with very little success. My eyes always became irritated within 2 hrs of putting them in and the contacts often popped loose due to how much I rubbed at my eyes. It took me about 1 month post consultation to make a decision on whether ICL surgery was what I really wanted. I watched a lot of testimonials on YT, read a bunch of reddit reviews and frequently kept in contact with my optometrist for any questions that popped into my head. It was a hard decision to make given the price of the surgery and the fact that I only have one pair of eyes. My disaster forecasting mind went to places like: "What if I went blind?". Doing extensive preparatory research and hearing success stories from people 1-10 years post-op really helped to calm me down. It also helped that ICL is reversible and Boston Vision has a good tract record with surgeries. Day of surgery I was given numbing and dilation drops on arrival. I decided to take the offered sublingual MKO medication, which definitely mellowed me out by the time I had to be on the surgical table. I met Dr. Brenner and his team who were excellent and talked me through every step during the procedure. During the procedure I only saw 3 bright mini square lights in the center with a kaleidoscope of colors in my periphery. And the most I felt was some pressure/soreness, no significant pain. I think the whole procedure was done in less than 30 min. When the process was over, I sat up on the surgical table and noticed that my vision was already clearer than before. My eyes were light sensitive from the dilation and I was a little disoriented from the calming meds so I did need some help. My Opto Tech Nune, who was with me from beginning to end, was wonderful. She guided me by hand to my room, gave me sunglasses to wear and ensured that I understood my discharge instructions. Overall I was only in the office for 1.5 hrs. I'm very sensitive to meds, even the dilation drops, so I pretty much spent the rest of the day sleeping with the sunglasses on. Even looking at my phone briefly with sunglasses on was uncomfortable. My vision was 20/20 at my follow up the next day, though I was still very light sensitive and there was some intermittent soreness in my eye whenever the room was too bright. Now I am slowly adapting and it doesn't feel like a foreign sensation to have clear vision. My light sensitivity has improved and I can for the most part tolerate ambient room lighting. I do still have to wear sunglasses outside. I do see halo rings and some ghosting effects when looking near light sources, but they don't bother me at all. There's no obstruction to my visual field. I have not tried night time driving yet. Overall, I am very happy I chose to get ICL surgery. Life will be somewhat freer not having to worry about foggy glasses, being outside in the rain and if my glasses will fall off during activities.

I had my initial screening and found out that I was not a candidate for lasik but could get EVO ICL. I did some research and decided that I would move ahead with the surgery. I liked the idea that if something was off in the future the implants could be removed or changed. I meet with Catherine one of the team managers and she was fantastic in helping me plan and figure out payments. Because I used my FSA I had one eye done in December and one in January. Dr. Gregoire did both procedures. You are in the office for a little while getting drops and dilated but the procedure itself takes less than 15 mins. After the procedure I had no pain and my eyesight was good enough to drive the next day. I have been going in for weekly check ups to monitor my eyes and feel I am in good hands in the Andover branch.

Was not expecting the procedure to be so swift! Couldn’t see for the first few hours however after much needed rest I was able to see a bit same day. The following day I was able to drive.

I was dependent on my contacts for everyday life- have looked into Lasik through the years but was never a good candidate. my eye prescription in both eyes was -5.50, wearing glasses gave me a headache, so I spent 15 hours in contacts and luckily didn't have a dry eye problem. I had done some research on my own when ICL came out and was happy that Boston Vision participated in the procedure under the FDA approval process. I went through the testing to determine what procedure would be best for me, all my questions were answered, and I never felt pressured to choose. Surgery day came and was easy....amazingly easy! even drove myself to my follow up the next morning. I still have a few situations where halo's are prominent (driving at night) but it's not distracting or uncomfortable. I had temporary dryness while healing but that has subsided 90% and improving so I have no doubt I'll be independent of eye drops soon. I'm fortunate I could have this done and used some HSA money to pay for the procedure which is very helpful. my favorite part is that ICL is completely reversible and also can be adapted if needed, like having lasik on top of ICL. Do your research, take your time, and ask questions. All the staff at Boston Vision are accommodating and have great bed side manner.

Highly recommend! I had ICL surgery with Dr Brenner ~3 months ago and am very happy with the results. Him and his team were very nice and professional, the surgery was painless, and the recovery was quick without any complications. Although I was hoping to see even further (I guess I was expecting 15/20 vision lol), it definitely improved and now I don't have to deal with the hassle of contacts or glasses. At times I do see halos still but the frequency is becoming less each month. Big thanks to everyone who helped at Boston Vision!

This review is being written 3.5 months after receiving ICL surgery. Prior to the procedure I had worse than -10x prescription in each eye and astigmatism. Contacts had never worked for me and I had been wearing glasses since before I was in kindergarten. If I were sent back in time, I would get ICL done again. For myself, I would easily consider the procedure "worth it". However, tt took months to adjust to ICL and was not without challenges. -- Advice for my former self: 1. Take the promises for immediate results made by consultants with a grain of salt. You won't see "well" leaving the appointment. Don't drive yourself to the 24-hour follow up appointment. The first few days will kind of suck. It will take a little over a week for you to be able to fully perform at work again. Significant halo-ing exists on the scale of months following the procedure and requires some level of accommodations. Dry eyes are also a side effect for some months but does get better. 2. Here are some useful products to be aware over during recovery. "Night Driving Glasses" are basically sunglasses to reduce glare of headlights without making things too dark. They go by different names but the product exists and it somewhat effective. It just "takes the edge off" of halos. Warm compress eye mask speeds up recovery and can be soothing. Artificial tears are a quick relief for dry eyes. They are super inconvenient and stopped feeling effective for me after some time but I did use a ton. You can probably get a "sample" bottle from your surgery team if you ask. 3. Anticipate the visual effect of halos and don't expect it to go away any time soon. Your vision will (ideally) be anatomically perfect after the surgery but it takes some time for you brain to rewire to a new form of visual processing. In my experience, you get immediate, unbeatable clarity, but every source of light makes a ring of light around it. Its similar to how astigmatism makes lights "bleed/smear". At first, it may be apparent even in full daylight but its mostly for lights in the dark. The rings of light can obscure your vision and almost make lights appear double. Be careful when driving at night. In general it can be very distracting. It might be a ring around your phone at night. Sometimes a full circle framing your vision. Honestly it can be very cool at times and feel very sci-fi. At a follow-up appointment Dr. Duncan said that you may be thinking to yourself "why did I do this" for 3-6 months. That's realistically the recovery time frame. But it will change your life and a year or two in, the rest will be history. She's fantastic and that's the most honest outlook I've been given. It's certainly held true. --- ABOUT ME Prior to the procedure we did a benchmark exam. This was the only time an optometrist had tested me without corrective aid and I could not see a single letter. I proceeded to repeatedly fail the "how many fingers am I holding up" quiz. I could see when the optometrist was waving her hand in front of the screen but that was honestly and embarrassing baseline. The surgery was unremarkable. Technically, as promised, I could see better leaving the appointment compared to when I came in. However, it was quite bleary and far from what I had hoped. Contrary to what I had been told, I do not feel it was safe for me to drive myself to the 24-hour follow-up appointment. Severe halo-ing left my visibility near-zero when traveling through an underground tunnel. At the 24 hour follow-up I required a touch-up procedure to reposition the lens. This likely accounts for why my vision had been so bad. They didn't do the whole numbing routine for the adjustment and for a few hours afterwards I was in agony. I called the Boston Vision emergency line but there wasn't anything to do for it except take a Tylenol. I do think the Tylenol helped but that was a sucky expereince. The important details of the rest of the healing process is more or less captured in the advice to my former self. I do think your attitude going into the procedure will influence your perspective and ability to cope any side effects. After a year in the workforce as an Electrical Engineer, I was really struggling with my glasses. The text on my screen was comically enlarged, I used text to speech to read my emails more often than not. Having such a strong prescription, I believe minor position adjustments of my glasses or lens defects/smudges really affected my working vision. I thought about my vision all the time and it distressed me daily. Technically my vision had not been stable for at least 2 years prior to getting ICL as is recommended. It was also a scary leap to get "Implantable Contact Lens" when I had gone through a lot of anguish trying to make traditional contacts work. I also seem have a generally overreactive immune system. Althought ICL is reversible, the procedure and undoing it would inflict significant trauma to the eye. I also think I would maybe still be on the hook for the $7750 price tag. If my prescription does progress again, I am excited to get mild prescription glasses. Despite Boston Vision's offer of life guarantee, free-of-charge LASIK I would be reticent to get more surgical work done personally for fear of long term consequences. In case it is relevant, I will share my expereience with contacts. Ultimately none of these contact problems really followed me after ICL. Thankfully. I gave contacts an honest shot twice in my life. At the ae of 13 I tried hard contact lens, gaspermeable lenses. At that age, I could not get over the inital discomfort of needing to essentially form callouses on my eyes. I tried again around the age of 22 before considering ICL as a final Hail Mary. At my prescription strength I qualified for "medically necessary contacts". The second time after a few adjustments the fit and prescription had been worked out but the eye strain was awful. My personal record was 4 hours before I absolutely felt the need to rip them out of my head. What's more, for around 90 minutes after taking out my contacts, wearing my glasses would make me severely dizzy to the point of mild nausea. I think because the glasses were further from my face, it felt like there was a visual "lag" going from contacts to glasses any time I moved. This would affect me with any visual motion. I stopped trying to make contacts work, after my optometrist suggested that contacts might never be suitable for work. Its not uncommon for people to use glasses for more intense/strenuous vision tasks and use contacts during outings, for sports, etc.

Had my ICL surgery a week ago. My vision is now as if I have my multifocal contacts lens in but without the hassle of contacts. It was thought by the professionals that this would be a better option than lasik due to the extent of correction necessary. I was hoping my vision would be a little better as I felt like I was straining (both near and far sight) to see with my multifocal contact lens. I did not have any pain during the procedure and it felt like a little bruising around my eyes for just 2-3 days. I cannot say the procedure was the most fun as you could see when the lens was being inserted but it was quick and the team was professional. The procedure was not anything bad, just the icky feeling of knowing what they were doing. I am still getting used to it and my eyes feel dry some of the time, which I did not have before. I hope they can do something to try to improve my vision somewhat.

Had my ICL consultation at Boston Vision, and the experience was genuinely impressive. I have high myopia (around -10.00), so I’m not a good candidate for LASIK. From the very beginning, the staff were professional, calm, and extremely knowledgeable. The consultation was thorough and data-driven, not sales-driven. Every test had a clear purpose, and the doctor took time to explain why ICL was suitable for my eyes, not just that it was an option. What stood out most was the clarity and honesty. Risks, benefits, long-term expectations—everything was explained in plain English, without pressure. For someone with severe nearsightedness, that level of transparency matters. The clinic itself is clean, modern, and well organized, and the staff were efficient but never rushed. I felt respected as a patient, not processed as a number. I had my ICL surgery at Boston Vision, and the outcome has exceeded my expectations. I’ve had severe myopia (around -10.00) for most of my life, and glasses or contacts were part of my daily routine. The surgery itself was quick and smooth, far less intimidating than I imagined. The medical team was calm, precise, and clearly very experienced, which made the entire process reassuring. What surprised me most was the speed of recovery. My vision improved almost immediately after surgery, and within a very short time I was seeing clearly without glasses. The post-op care was thorough and well organized. Every follow-up visit felt purposeful, and all my questions were answered patiently and honestly. Boston Vision never overpromised, but the results delivered. My vision is sharp, stable, and comfortable, even with long hours of screen use. For someone with high myopia, regaining clear vision without relying on corrective lenses feels genuinely life-changing. If you’re not a LASIK candidate and are considering ICL surgery, I can confidently recommend Boston Vision. The professionalism, technology, and results speak for themselves.

I had ICL procedure done on my right eye a little over a month now. I wanted to do one eye first because I was told I have large pupils which may cause me to see severe halos and ghost images in dime lights. I can tell you all is true. Driving at night has been a struggle as I constantly see starbursts from other cars and street lights. Walking my dog at night and seeing a movie have also been tough. Although I see improvements, they are not as fast as I would like. Another problem I'm having is the straining on my corrected eye. I had decided to do monovision and had my right eye under corrected. Currently, I'm wearing a contact lens on my left. Every time I change environment, like going from a small room to a large room or going from a bright room to a dark one, I can feel my right eye is working very hard trying to focus and sometimes my eye lid won't even open all the way as if it's really tired. The appointment for my left eye surgery is in couple of weeks, but I'm going to postpone it out couple of months. Hopefully most of these conditions will subdue by then otherwise I will have it removed.

Before having my ICL done, my eyesight was horrid. I could only see clearly for about 6” in front of me. After that I couldn’t make out anything. Needless to say I needed my contacts or glasses to do anything and everything. After going over my options with Boston Vision, I decided to go with ICL. Boston vision made the whole process very easy. The procedure itself only took about 20 minutes and there was no pain at all. For the first 8 hours my vision was a bit blurry but it was slowly coming into focus. By the next day I could see perfectly. Almost a week later and it’s only gotten better. I do have slight halos at night, but they are not distracting to me and I barely notice them unless I am focusing on them. Overall, I am very happy with my procedure and look forward to not needing glasses for everyday activities.
