My review of the surgery is in my previous post, but as a Functional Nutritionist I wanted to share some aftercare tips on how to nourish post-surgery to help your eyes heal! Lean proteins (chicken, eggs, salmon, tofu, lentils, and Greek yogurt) rejuvenate eye cells, strengthen fragile blood vessels, and rebuild delicate eye tissue. Omega-3s (capsules, salmon, tuna, chia seeds, and walnuts) alleviate post-surgery dry eye symptoms, support retinal lubrication, and manage swelling. Vitamin C-rich foods (oranges, grapefruits, strawberries, kiwi, and red bell peppers) stimulate collagen synthesis, speed up overall wound healing, and reduce surgical inflammation. Leafy greens (spinach, kale, collard greens, and broccoli) provide vitamin A to boost cellular function and lutein which protects the recovering retina. Zinc and vitamin E-rich foods (almonds, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, and avocados) transport vitamin A from the liver to the retina while shielding healing tissues from cellular stress. Beta-Carotene rich foods (sweet potatoes, carrots, apricots, and cantaloupe) are essential for the retina, supporting night vision and keeping eyes properly lubricated. To get the most out of your eye-healthy foods, pair them with healthy fats like olive oil, nuts, or avocados to increase nutrient absorption. Be sure to avoid processed sugars, really salty foods, and alcohol because they can add unnecessary pressure and swelling, as well as dehydrate the eyes which can prolong healing. Stay very hydrated, aiming towards half your body weight in ounces of water daily to flush out metabolic waste and keep your eyes lubricated. Happy healing!

My ICL surgery with Dr. Brenner went very well. It was a remarkably quick procedure - around 10 minutes on the table for both eyes. The recovery was easy. I had very minimal soreness for two days following and some dry eye that was relieved with OTC drops. I saw 20/20 (r) and 20/25 (L) the day after my surgery.

Review: Day 1 Post-Op – Clear Lens Exchange (CLE) with Light Adjustable Lens (LAL) Patient Profile: 60-year-old Male, Computer Engineer. Usage Profile: High-demand visual workload (14+ hrs/day); multi-monitor setup (large monitor at arm’s length + laptop). Pre-Op Stats: Near: +3.0 | Far: +1.5. The Procedure: 5/5 Stars The operation was impressively efficient—a "quick patch" for the eye that took only 10–15 minutes. For any engineer who values uptime and streamlined processes, the speed of the surgery is a major plus. No significant discomfort; it was a professional, high-speed installation of the new hardware ;-) The Hardware: Light Adjustable Lens (LAL) I chose the LAL specifically for the post-op customization. In my line of work, "close enough" isn't good enough for 14 hours of code or system architecture. The ability to "beta test" my vision after the surgery—and then have it digitally adjusted via UV light—is the ultimate "calibration" tool for a tech-heavy lifestyle. Current Status: The "In-Between" Phase I am currently 24 hours post-op on eye #1 of 2. Performance: I am currently running on a "split-system"—one eye upgraded, one eye legacy. Intermediate/Near Work: As an engineer, the "arm's length" monitor is my primary workspace. While I’m currently in the healing phase and waiting for the second eye next week, the goal is to fine-tune these lenses specifically for that distance.

I had CLE LASIK surgery in December, and overall, my experience has been very positive. From the start, the doctors and staff were professional, attentive, and reassuring throughout the entire process. The post-surgery plan included follow-up adjustments over four weeks, which gave me confidence that my vision would be carefully monitored and fine-tuned. As it turned out, I felt ready by the third adjustment, and my vision had already improved significantly by then. I did the monovision setup, with one eye optimized for distance and the other for near vision. That required time to adapt, but now, it genuinely feels like I have “20/20” vision, everything is clear and sharp. That said, since this is new for me, I’m still getting used to what “normal” should feel like after the procedure. Overall, I’m very pleased with both the results and the level of care I received, and I would absolutely recommend this experience to others considering the procedure.

Boston Vision made the entire process incredibly smooth! The prep information was super helpful, as was the consult. The thoroughness with which they assess your best options for a path forward indicates how the team truly cares about each individual patients satisfaction. The procedure itself was quick and painless—discomfort was only experienced for about 3 hours post surgery (similar to having sunscreen irritating your eye but you can’t do anything about it). By hour 4, I was up and moving around and could see even more clearly than before.

I had lasik with mono vision few years ago. I found that my close up vision was changing. I looked into CLE and after discussion with Dr Melki decided to go forward with the procedure. Overall I have no complaints. No glasses and I can see both at a distance and upclose. I find the staff to be very helpful and professional each and every time I have been in the office.

Although CLE experience was not as easy as I thought it would be, it truly feels like a breakthrough in medicine, a medical miracle so to speak. I went to Dr. Melki who I was told is the best of the best. I felt the procedure was nothing, I barely felt anything and opted not to take the Xanax they offer. The day of post surgery, plan on doing absolutely nothing because they super dilate your eye, beyond regular dilation. The one thing I was not prepared for the week in between each procedure. I have pretty severe near vision and my distance was just starting the fade. I wasn't prepared of how disorienting it would be to have one eye corrected and the other not. I almost did not feel safe to drive. However, after just getting one eye done, my distance was crystal clear the next day. I just had a VERY hard time reading my computer screen when I had a ton of work to do and it was very frustrating. As soon as I got the second eye done, the disorientation was totally cleared. Plan ahead for that week in between to take it easy and plan for less computer time. I am 5 days post-op and I can read even the tiniest print on a nutrition label. I am DONE with granny glasses! However, it's still straining to read screens but it's improving daily and supposed to get better over time. I am definitely seeing halos around street lights and car lights at night and that is supposed to improve as well. Even if I see halos driving at night long-term, the trade-off of not putting on my readers 100 times a day was worth it. Also, the eye drops they give you causes me nausea but getting some tips online helped. Basically you squeeze your tear ducts for 60 seconds after drops and it can help prevent it from going systemic. All in all, I know I am going to be very happy in a few weeks/months when I can accurately measure the success!

This whole process was amazing. My anxiety, admittedly, was up there until the procedure started. I found the procedure much easier and quicker than what I envisioned. The results were more positive than what I thought and more immediate than expected. Despite the costs for all of this, I feel the benefits so far outweigh the costs. I can't wait to have my other eye done, and for the treatments to begin to sharpen vision even more.

I had an excellent experience with my CLE surgery with Dr. Vinny Keshav. He was extremely confident and made the entire process easy to understand from start to finish. His calm and professional approach immediately put me at ease and made me feel that I was truly in good hands. I felt well cared for and confident throughout the entire experience. I would highly recommend him to anyone considering this procedure. Also, the whole staff were nice and knowledgeable!

I had CLE with a light adjustable lens a week ago to eventually correct vision in that eye for mid- to reading-range. Contrary to the PRK treatment, my vision was 20/20 two or three days after the surgery (possibly sooner--I kept it covered for 48 hours rather than the suggested 24 and then took it easy for another 24 hours after that). NOTE: When they initially put the new lens in they start with 20/20 for distance and work backwards, so I can see great for distance with that eye but it will need to be adjusted for mid- to reading-range when we make the first adjustment in a couple of weeks. I have the further challenge that we did PRK on my right eye a month ago but that eye is not 20/20 yet, so I am having a hard time with vision overall because of that eye. Post CLE I was able to drive, etc. and returned to work two days after the surgery (I had surgery on a Friday and was back to work on Monday). Wearing the lovely glasses they give you to protect the lens is not fun, but I can tell it will be well worth it when the procedure is all done. The only reason I have given the procedure 4 stars and not 5 at this point is because I am waiting to see how it ends.

At the end of June I had a lense replacement treatment with Dr Keshav which went great but the post operative and pre operative service especially in the scheduling by Catherine and after care are poor I'm afraid to say. I attended my first post operative appointment and seen Emily Nangle in Andover. I was prescribed additional stronger steroids which was great. I had issues with vision and called the telephone number to speak to the doctor and I got no where. I was finally connected to a voicemail service and left a message which the doctor never got. I had to call Dr Keshav and I was not really impressed with his responses. I am an international client who needs his sight prior to returning home. I again today called to find out what this sight calls Lense Replacement Surgery to get Ali who was of no help whatsoever. I do have one post operative appointment to attend and I will leave further information thereafter. I am aware of the things I was not told even although I asked and so far I have not in my opinion had a great service other than the two days that I had the surgery which again to note went well but I think the set up is all wrong. I would have had better service at home in the Uk .

I had always wanted LASIK but was not a candidate for it. Clear Lens Extraction was the solution for me. As a surgeon, I felt comfortable that the Light Adjustable Lens was the best option after seeing its success among my own patients. Thank you Dr Brenner for a smooth experience. I can now see distance and close up without any glasses at all as I picked monovision with LAL.

It is amazing how the technology has developed so I could do this. I was not a candidate for LASIK or pro so was eager to try this. The staff was professional and courteous and the procedure has gone well. My only reuquest would be to have a bit more information about how my eyes would feel following the surgery. Basically it felt like there were contacts in my eyes and I could see an area of my cheek that I didn’t see before. Also the follow up appointments take about 2-3 hours so budget your ti e accordingly. I would definitely Italy do this again if needed but I don’t think that would l be necessary

The end result was fine and in the end corrected a lifetime of poor vision but the process to get there was somewhat confusing. Even though we paid in full prior to service we continued to receive bills months after. Multiple multiple calls needed to clear it up as they use a third party billing service

I had -7.00 in both eyes going into the surgery. I felt well-informed through the whole process. The materials provided were clear and detailed. In the day of the surgery, I found myself uncomfortable more than in pain. My eyes were a stream of tears that I couldn’t seem to stop. Once I was able to fall asleep, I felt okay. I had some sensitivity to light once I woke up but it quickly went away. The sensitivity to light has continued but is mostly when I am outside now. I continue to have some sensation in my left eye that feels like a piece of sand but I find the eye drops help with that a lot.

I had the light adjustable lens 5 months ago. I have worked for Boston Vision for 16 years and always wanted to have corrective surgery. I was not a good candidate for LASIK/PRK or ICL. Finally. there was a good option for me with the Light Adjustable Lens CLE (CLEAR LENS EXCHANGE) procedure. I watched the results of other patients and was amazed how the doctor could adjust my vision after the surgery for both near and close up vision and I could get my vision adjusted up to three times to really finetune what I was looking for. Needless to say, I had amazing results and no longer wear glasses or contacts for near or far. Since they are both excellent surgeons. I had Dr. Melki performed surgery on my left eye and Dr .Brenner on the right. The surgery was quick and really pain free and only about 15 minutes. I am so glad I jumped in after 16 years of waiting for the technology to improve to where I feel this was a great option for me. If you are a good candidate, go for it! You won't be disappointed

My husband went to Dr. Brenner for cataract surgery and had a great experience. During one of those appointments Dr. Brenner mentioned mono for me. Since I had Lasik in 2000, the best option was CLE with a light adjustable lens. I go today for my final appoint with Dr. Nangle, and am thrilled with the results. All staff I have met are very professional. I now have clear reading and distance vision. Success all around. I highly recommend Boston Vision and will continue with them for my overall eye health.
